A client within the Public Sector based in Gloucestershire is currently recruiting for a Principal Highways Development Coordinator to join their Highways Development Management team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, permanent position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a highways planning and development environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to provide timely highways and transport advice to planning authorities, ensuring that the Highways Authority’s position is clearly represented, while supporting sustainable development across the County. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Engaging in pre-application discussions with planning officers, developers, and consultants. • Assessing transport assessments, transport statements and travel plans submitted in support of planning applications. • Providing highways and transport recommendations to district planning authorities within agreed timelines. • Representing the Highways Authority at planning committees, public inquiries, and stakeholder meetings. • Negotiating and securing Section 106 financial contributions for strategic infrastructure delivery.
