The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Assistant Technical Officer based in the Council's multi award winning Home Improvement Agency. The postholder will support the Technical Officers to deliver services aimed at supporting private sector vulnerable residents, undertaking repairs and disabled adaptations to their homes.
You will have experience of surveying residential properties and supervising building works. You should hold a minimum of a Higher National Qualification in a building related subject, or equivalent relevant experience.
The post holder will have the ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of prioritising workloads. You will have direct contact with colleagues in other services, key partner organisations and members of the public. You will have excellent numeracy, keyboard and communication skills and will be committed to high standards of customer service.
A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to carry out home visits throughout the district.
The hours of work for this position are 22.2 hours per week, flexible working hours between Monday to Friday 9.00 until 5.00 pm. This post will be classed as a hybrid worker with the ability to work from home and council sites within the district.
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
