About The Role
This is a key opportunity to support our growing focus on the Aerospace & Defence sector. You’ll work closely with our Machining Quality Manager to enhance our current systems, introduce aerospace‑grade best practice and help build capability across the team. Your expertise will be instrumental to our long‑term quality strategy.
As part of this role you will be collaborating extensively with Machining, Foundry, Manufacturing Engineering, and cross‑functional groups across the site.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Deliver aerospace quality activities, including AS9100 and AS9102 requirements
* Support process development and improvement across machining operations
* Produce FAI and PPAP documentation for aerospace, automotive and defence customers
* Strengthen technical readiness by refining specifications and acceptance criteria
* Provide guidance to existing QEs to grow capability within the team
* Support customer discussions, audits and technical reviews
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who brings expertise, precision and confidence to a busy and highly technical quality environment.
* A background in Aerospace/Defence quality
* Experience working with AS9100 and aerospace documentation
* Comfortable communicating with aerospace customers and auditors
* Skilled in quality core tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, 8D, etc.)
* Familiar with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and FAI (First Article Inspection) requirements
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Knowledge of automotive quality systems (IATF 16949) is beneficial
* A practical, structured approach to improving processes and documentation
* Ability to travel to site
