Overview
This post is for a Locum Consultant Thoracic Surgeon, working across the geographical areas covered by the Regional Cardiac Centre. The appointee will join 11 Consultant Cardiac, Thoracic and Cardiothoracic colleagues and will participate in a 1:5 cardiac on call rota at Victoria Hospital. A specific aortic on-call rota 1:4 is under consideration and the successful candidate will take part in this rota.
Affiliation and Employment
The successful candidate will join a multi-professional team based at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre, Blackpool Victoria Hospital and be employed by the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Commitment and Duties
The indicative commitment for the post will be as follows. If there is any change between production of this job description and advertisement/appointment, candidates will be informed.
* Direct Clinical Care: Operating Theatre 4.5 PA
* OPD 1.0 PA
* On call – Predictable: 1.0 PA
* On call – Unpredictable: 0.5 PA
* Ward rounds & MDT: 1.0 PA
* Admin: 0.5 PA
* Total 8.5 PA’s
* SPA 1.5 PA's
