We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Agriculture to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Brooksby College. You will use your expertise to inspire the next generation of agricultural professionals, helping students understand not just how things are done, but the vital why behind modern agricultural practice. Your teaching will directly contribute to shaping the future of a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry. With an extensive 850-acre estate, including a mixed-use livestock and arable farm, Brooksby College offers an exceptional practical setting. Our students benefit from a rich blend of classroom learning, demonstrations, and hands-on experience, giving them a strong foundation for successful careers within the industry. As part of our land-based team, you will contribute to the planning, delivery, and ongoing development of our courses. Loughborough College Group comprises Brooksby College, Loughborough College, Stephenson College and IGNITE Performing Arts, and we invest in modern facilities and resources to support learners and staff.
Responsibilities
* Planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons across crops, plant and soil and estate skills.
* Supporting and guiding students through practical and classroom-based learning; developing course materials and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the land-based curriculum.
* Assessing and reviewing students’ progression in the workplace, and ensuring high standards of health, safety, and welfare across all teaching and practical activity areas.
* Maintain strong, up-to-date industry experience in agriculture, ideally with knowledge of crops, machinery, estate maintenance, or general farm operations.
* A passion for teaching and inspiring the next generation, with the ability to explain both theory and practical application clearly.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with confidence delivering to learners of varying abilities.
* A recognised teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards one.
* It is essential candidates have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to use when visiting students in the workplace.
