Job Summary
Primary Care Physio is England's largest independent specialist provider of first-contact primary care services. We support NHS Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and GP practices by delivering high-quality, tech-enabled FCP solutions in Physiotherapy and Podiatry. Our team of over 335 professionals is supported by clinical supervisors approved by Health Education England, serving over 8 million patients across numerous NHS PCNs.
Main duties of the job
1. Assess, diagnose, triage, and manage patients with complex caseloads, progressing investigations and referrals as trained.
2. Utilize your full scope of clinical practice, including independent prescribing, injections, and investigations when qualified.
3. Manage complex interactions, including psychosocial and mental health considerations, referring to social prescribing as needed.
4. Deliver patient self-management programs to promote behavioral change, physical activity, mobility, and independence.
5. Provide tailored care, considering the impact of clinical status on overall health and wellbeing.
6. Support patients in setting goals and confidently managing their health.
Evidence, Research, and Development
1. Develop collaborative relationships across PCNs to support pathway integration.
2. Work within MDTs, using MSK expertise to enhance service delivery through leadership, teaching, and evaluation.
3. Support research and audits to improve FCP services.
4. Streamline care pathways for timely patient access.
Leadership
1. Lead and contribute to service delivery and clinical governance.
2. Communicate effectively with patients and carers about diagnosis and treatment options.
Facilitating learning
1. Provide feedback and support to team members on referral criteria.
2. Reflect on personal practice and pursue ongoing professional development.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential): Minimum 5 years post-graduate physiotherapy experience, with at least 3 years in MSK assessment and treatment. Fully HCPC and CSP registered.
Desirable: Experience in first contact triage, working in GP practices, using EMIS/SystmOne, Level 7 MSc, injection therapy, or independent prescribing.
Additional requirements
This role requires a DBS check and current UK registration.
