Job Description
Deanston Cooper’s client, a steel fabrication company, based in Kirkcaldy are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Estimator. This role will involve estimating costs for fabrication, and welding projects, with a focus on full assembly fabrication, material take-offs, and tender submissions.
As Estimator your duties will include:
* Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
* Preparing material take-offs, including proprietary items, based on project drawings and specifications.
* Creating and submitting tender returns, including final offer letters using standard templates.
* Pricing site installation work, considering material costs, labour, and overheads.
* Collaborating with customers and internal teams to clarify project requirements and communicate pricing details.
* Maintaining and updating pricing documentation and spreadsheets using Excel and Word.
* Conducting site visits to assess project scope and gather relevant information for pricing.
* Supporting the project team in understanding cost structures and project expectations.
