East Staffordshire Borough Council – ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (Temporary ASB Enforcement Officer)
East Staffordshire Borough Council is committed to creating a safe environment for those within the Borough and is looking to recruit a Temporary ASB Enforcement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of three Officers which deal with a wide remit from environmental crime, licensing enforcement, including licensed vehicles and premises through to anti-social behaviour.
Responsibilities
* Provide a responsive, customer‑focussed service that helps improve the local environment quality in relation to Anti‑Social Behaviour.
* Respond to service requests from members of the public, internal departments, stakeholders such as the Police and Council Members in an efficient and timely manner, managing your own workload.
* Undertake investigations and appropriate enforcement action as necessary.
* Respond to clients and present evidence in court.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Excellent communication skills and ability to accurately record information for reports and witness statements.
* Full driving licence and use of a vehicle – the role requires coverage of the whole East Staffordshire Borough.
* 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade A to C or equivalent.
* Certificated qualifications in the areas of Anti‑Social Behaviour enforcement desirable.
* Previous experience working in a Local Authority environment, with residents, Council Members and other stakeholders, and experience of complaint investigation and resolution.
* Basic IT skills and understanding of applicable law and practice, and a willingness to keep up to date with legislation.
* Observant, with the ability to record information accurately during an investigation, remaining calm, polite and helpful when dealing with potentially difficult situations.
Working Hours
The hours of work are 22.5 hours per week, working 3 days to be agreed.
