Role Description

Casual Support Worker – Make Every Day Matter!

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent Hours: 0 hours contract, flexible, 14 hour long shifts, 7.30am to 9.30pm, Monday to Sunday. Sleep-ins are paid additionally at the rate of £50.00 per sleep Salary: £12.96 per hour plus benefits Driving Licence: Manual UK licence required

Who will you be supporting CB - I’m looking for you to assist me to do the things I love. I am a young lady with learning disabilities and some complex health needs, including epilepsy, so experience of this would be essential.

You must be a happy, calm, enthusiastic and trustworthy, to be a part of my team. You will assist me to conduct the life I want, and encourage and develop my communication skills including Makaton and picture cards.

Sometimes I need a quiet environment in my home but I love being around people who have a great personality and can make me laugh. I really enjoy listening to music – especially reggae (Bob Marley is my favourite). I’d love it if you liked these things too.

I’d love for people to join my team who are 100% reliable and able to provide me with personal care support.

AH - has limited communication skills and uses a small amount of Makaton. While AH has a small vocabulary, with a regular staff team, they will learn to communicate effectively with him. AH can be repetitive with words at times, so you will need a patient and have a calm approach. In addition, the ability to redirect the conversation.

AH is a very active person and has planned activities every week day. You will need to be a confident driver and physically fit are essential requirements for this role as you will be required to juggle and engage in multiple appointments which include:

13. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday - Rare Breeds Centre
14. Monday and Tuesday - Farm Day, assisting with wheelbarrows and other farmyard activities.
15. Wednesday - Arts and Crafts. You will attend a group with vulnerable adults, so being confident and knowledgeable of learning difficulties is a must.
16. Thursday - Hydrotherapy in Canterbury. You will need to be comfortable with driving in rush-hour traffic.
17. Friday - Gardening at Rare Breeds. This is a physical day. You will need to be fit and able to partake in activities with Alexander.
