Job Description:
This entry level position in Microchip Component Operations, our Global Supply Chain Team, will provide the successful candidate with valuable experience and growth potential. The objective of our Supply Chain Team is to establish, maintain/ improve supply continuity, quality and cost as it relates to products and services. (Key Measurements: Inventory, On-time delivery, Quality & Cost)
Responsibilities:
1. Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers
2. Reviews PO variances to the plan; past due and aged unconfirmed orders providing resolution with the supply base
3. Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information
4. Recommend cost saving proposals including alternative sourcing with approval of team
5. Works closely with Engineers & Strategic Sourcing Managers to support all procurement and vendor negotiations on lead-time and cost
6. Process Returns to Vendor (RTV) for procured products and drive continual improvement with Supplier Quality team
7. Manage and maintain item master/organization attributes for assigned product
8. Resolves accounts payable / receivable discrepancies for any / items assigned
9. Resolves delivery/receiving discrepancies for any / all items assigned
10. Remains current on economic, industrial and other trends that affect market and prices
11. Supports ERP integration activities and assists Project Manager with implementations
12. Participates in New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to represent Component Ops in the early stages of the development process
Requirements/Qualifications:
13. Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Supply Chain
14. Strong Interpersonal Skills
15. Proven planning, organizational and communication skill
16. Proficient in the use Microsoft Office software (specifically Excel)
17. Demonstrated analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
