The Opportunity: Category Manager

Contract: 12 Month FTC

Location: Cannock

The Briggs Equipment Group is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. If you don't meet all of the role criteria outlined below, please don't let that discourage you from applying.

The Impact you will have:

* Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term procurement strategies
* Deliver significant cost savings
* Set targets for the category in line with the Group Head of Operations
* Increase and sustain supplier efficiencies through robust framework agreements, KPIs, and SLAs
* Provide comprehensive category analysis, recommendations, and advice based on internal and external insights, always championing what is best for the category
* Aggregate requirements across the business's market footprint to deliver competitive advantage and savings targets
* Collaborate empathetically with key stakeholders as a Business Partner to improve and support business outcomes
* Ensure the financial aspects and impacts of contracts are clear to all parties; negotiate and agree on contracts; monitor progress, service quality, and support escalations if required
* Communicate supplier strategies and objectives effectively
* Influence and support key stakeholders
* Conduct supplier commercial negotiations
* Prepare tenders, analyze proposals, review stakeholder input, and select suppliers
* Support the development of Category and Sub-Category plans
* Assist in developing policies and processes at Group and local levels and support their effective implementation
* Manage supplier performance and relationships
* Implement regular supplier performance reviews (monthly, quarterly, and annually)

What will help you to excel in this role:

* Relevant higher education or industry-related qualifications
* Proven experience in Category/Commodity Management
* Ability to influence commercial decisions at all levels
* Track record of achieving cost savings
* Experience in contract writing and negotiation
