Finance Analyst - Finance Business Partner/Corporate/Capital - 3 posts

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic, and social make up.
The role
The 3 positions are at the same level with a different focus -
1. 1. Corporate Reporting
A cross cutting role with an element of business partnering and an element of corporate reporting.
* Finance Business Partnering for one of the council's smaller directorates: Finance and Resources
* Corporate Financial Reporting (both internal and external)
* Working both with a service delivery area and across the council, you will be reporting to the senior finance analyst on agreed objectives and outputs, preparing savings target updates and expenditure and funding reporting.
* The role will require you to work with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that you have collected the information required on a timely basis with view to collating data and commentary in a comprehensive way.
* You will also support other areas such as calculating corporate over heads.
* You will also support to undertake complex and technical accounting tasks and ensure that there is an effective framework for financial reporting, forecasting, control management within the council.
2. 2. Finance Business Partner - Neighbourhoods & Regeneration
* Working closely with the council's Neighbourhoods & Regeneration. The focus of the role -
* Analysis and management of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) - making sure that payments are properly accounted for and transfers are made correctly.
* Responsible for financial support to the departments including such areas as the annual budget, monthly monitoring and statutory reporting.
* Support officers, providing them with high level professional advice on a broad range of financial issues.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on new legislation (relevant to CIL and S106) and accounting standards
3. 3. Capital Housing Programme
* Finance business partnering for Housing within the capital team.
* Providing strategic modelling and review the viability of the Council's Housing Programmes.
* Playing a significant role in instilling good governance and project management within the programme and experience in capital in local government.
* Supporting with the monthly reporting of the programme deliverables to capital boards, contribute to the closure of accounts and complete statutory returns to central government.

What you need to succeed
You are likely to be part qualified or qualified AAT and you will ideally have worked in local government finance. However, applications are welcome from candidates who have a keen interest in the sector and who are able to demonstrate an understanding of the challenges in the sector.
