Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Fostering Kinship Team to work Full Time based in Southend.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £45,091 per annum.

* To provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people appropriate to experience and capabilities.
* To ensure the highest of professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation regulation and practice methods.
* To provide an efficient and cost-effective service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed.
* Identify Children in Need who may also be in need of protection and effectively safeguard them.
* To investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidence of conclusions and realistic action plans.
* To develop practice, that takes a holistic view of the individual, locating them in both their immediate and extended social circles, and having full regard for their overall development needs.
* To prepare and submit written reports as and when required, including statements and care for care proceedings in the Family Proceedings, County & High Courts.
* To ensure the Team Manager is kept fully appraised of problems arising from workload and seek advice as and when necessary.
* Where appropriate to act as the Duty Worker for the team, responding to queries and issues.
* To proactively liaise with and work in partnership with other agencies and organisations, parents and carers.
* To attend conferences, reviews and court as required for each case presenting the Council Plan and options with professionalism and integrity.
* To use ICT as required to maintain accurate case records, and to be able to report on key performance management data.
* To participate effectively in regular formal structured supervision from the Line Manager, in team and other Meetings. To assist in identifying and participate in individual development or other training opportunities in order to improve the competencies required to carry out the job effectively and develop professionally.
* To contribute to a culture within the Department that values people for their positive contributions to work and encourages and supports high standards of interpersonal behaviour and professional performance.
* To undertake any other duties as may be required which are appropriate for grades of posts up to and including the grade of this post.


Requirements of this Social Worker role:

* A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
