Project Manager – Contracts & Transformation
London (Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite)
£50,000 + benefits | 5-year fixed-term contract
We’re supporting a well-established, purpose-driven national organisation to appoint a Project Manager into a high-profile team delivering critical transformation work.
This role will play a key part in supporting a national programme of significant public interest, before transitioning into a longer-term position within a central Contracts & Supplier Management function.
The Role
Initially, you’ll support the delivery of a major, high-profile programme launching later this year, working alongside an established team to ensure successful mobilisation and delivery.
Post-launch, you’ll transition into a core Project Manager role within the Contracts team, reporting into a Senior Contract Manager, where you’ll oversee supplier performance, governance, and ongoing delivery across a portfolio of critical services.
This is a unique opportunity to combine programme delivery experience with long-term contract and supplier management exposure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support delivery of a high-priority transformation programme through to launch
2. Track programme milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies
3. Coordinate stakeholders across delivery, operational, and governance teams
4. Transition into managing contract performance, supplier relationships, and reporting
5. Maintain contract management plans, ensuring risks and issues are effectively tracked and escalated
6. Produce high-quality reporting for senior stakeholders
7. Support budget tracking, invoicing, and financial oversight
8. Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, policies, and change control
9. Build strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers
About You
We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, organised, and confident operating in complex environments, with the ability to support both programme delivery and ongoing service management.
You’ll bring:
10. Experience as a Project Manager or Junior Project Manager in a delivery-focused environment
11. Strong understanding of project governance, reporting, and lifecycle delivery
12. Experience working with suppliers or supporting contract management activities
13. Strong Excel and data handling capability
14. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across multiple levels
15. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Desirable
16. Experience in public sector, not-for-profit, or regulated environments
17. Exposure to sensitive or high-impact programmes
18. Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, APM or similar)
