Learning Support Officer

We are a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Newham seeking a committed and organised Learning Support Officer to join our dedicated support team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting students with additional learning needs and ensuring they have the tools to succeed.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Officer, you will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to coordinate and deliver effective support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will combine administrative responsibilities with direct student support, helping to ensure that provision is well-organised, consistent, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-class and targeted support for students with SEND
Assist in the planning and implementation of individual support plans (EHCPs)
Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions
Liaise with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies
Support the coordination of assessments, reviews, and meetings
Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environmentAbout You:
Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting
Good understanding of SEND and inclusive practice (desirable)
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
