JUNIOR WELDER
A vacancy has arisen for a Junior Welder to join our Engineering team.
This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who have recently completed formal welding and fabrication training or education but lack hands-on experience. The Junior Welder will support qualified Welders on-site, gaining practical skills and knowledge whilst working alongside experienced professionals.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties: -
Assist in welding, cutting, and joining metal components following technical drawings and specifications.
Work alongside experienced welders to develop proficiency in different welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick welding, etc.).
Support fabrication processes, including measuring, grinding, and preparing materials.
Ensure work meets quality and safety standards set by industry regulations.
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workspace to uphold operational efficiency.
Participate in training programs and certifications to enhance technical skills.
Follow health & safety guidelines, including proper use of protective equipment.
Travel and weekend work may be required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-
Education: A recent qualification in Welding, Fabrication, or a related field (e.g., diploma, apprenticeship, NVQ).
Skills: Strong willingness to learn, good problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Desirable: Basic understanding of welding principles, materials, and safety practices.
Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, proactive, reliable, and able to work well in a team environment.
