Assistant Site Manager
£35,000 - £45,000 per annum

gap construction is proud to be representing a well-established main contractor in their search for a dedicated and ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join their team in central Hertfordshire.
Projects will vary in nature but include high-profile, complex schemes across the commercial, education, industrial, retail, and residential sectors throughout Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and into London.
Performance Objectives
Support the Site Manager in delivering projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Assist with the coordination of trades, subcontractors, and site activities.
Help ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and reporting any concerns.
Maintain daily site records, progress reports, and relevant documentation.
Contribute to resolving on-site issues swiftly and effectively.
Ensure that work is carried out in line with project plans, drawings, and specifications.
Engage with clients, stakeholders, and the project team to support clear communication and smooth project delivery.
Assist in monitoring material deliveries, site logistics, and housekeeping to maintain an efficient and safe working environment.Person Specification
Experience in a site-based role within the construction industry (Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or similar).
A qualification in Construction Management or a related field is desirable but not essential.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a wider site team.
SMSTS or SSSTS is advantageous.
