⏰ Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30am–3:30pm)
Role Overview
Milk Education is recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, two-form entry primary school in the L23 area of Liverpool. This role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants or individuals looking to further develop their skills within a supportive Early Years setting.
You will work closely with the Reception class teacher to support children academically, socially, and emotionally during this important stage of their early education.
Classroom & School Support
1. Two-form entry primary school rooted in the local community
2. Supportive Reception teaching team
3. Additional SEN Teaching Assistant support where required
4. Collaborative EYFS and senior leadership team
5. Opportunities for professional development and training
Key Responsibilities
6. Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective EYFS activities and lessons
7. Work with individual children and small groups to support learning and development
8. Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
9. Support children with SEN and additional learning needs
10. Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
11. Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources
12. Observe and record children’s progress where appropriate
13. Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development
14. Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and wider school staff
What We’re Looking For
15. Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant school-based experience
16. Experience working within EYFS or Reception is desirable
17. Experience supporting children with SEN is beneficial
18. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
19. A patient, nurturing, and child-centred approach
20. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
21. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
