Job Opportunity: Theatre Technician – Local Secondary School (NN3 Area)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Theatre Technician to work in a well-regarded secondary school based in the NN3 area of Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in theatre production and a passion for the performing arts, particularly in musical theatre.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a range of backstage and technical theatre roles, including sound and lighting operation, set design, stage management, and AV equipment maintenance. You’ll be supporting the school’s thriving performing arts department, working alongside teaching staff to prepare and deliver school productions, assemblies, and other performances.
This role will also include responsibility for the general maintenance and upkeep of the school’s performance spaces, ensuring health and safety compliance and supporting students during rehearsals and shows. While teaching experience is not required, a passion for working with young people and supporting their creative development is essential.
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience working in theatres or on musical theatre productions
* Knowledge of lighting and sound systems (e.g. QLab, ETC, etc.)
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
* Flexible and proactive approach to work
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check and register with Teaching Personnel
