Our client, a leading Trade Association based in Southwark, Central London, is seeking a Head of Membership Engagement to join their team.

The Role of Head of Membership Engagement
Working under the direction of the Executive Director, the postholder will be responsible for developing and delivering membership engagement, recruitment, and retention strategies to ensure the organisation continues to:
* Deliver excellent support to members
* Ensure retention of current members
* Increase recruitment of new members
Duties and Responsibilities
* Review current approach to membership engagement, recruitment, and retention, and devise strategies to formalise and strengthen these activities.
* Build and sustain strong relationships with members at a senior level.
* Identify prospective companies that could become members.
* Implement a membership growth strategy targeting prospective members across the UK, aiming for annual growth in all segments.
* Engage with existing and prospective members at CEO/executive level.
* Communicate the benefits of membership to both current and potential members.
* Respond to queries about member benefits from potential new members.
* Develop and implement processes and systems to enhance the member experience.
* Represent member interests by creating feedback loops and collaborating with other team members.
* Design and execute an annual Membership Survey to monitor success and identify improvement areas.
* Manage new membership applications and renewals, coordinating with the Finance Director on membership rates and payment invitations.
* Coordinate the administration of member meetings, including minute-taking and action tracking.
* Promote member activities through channels like the website, communications, and resources.
Person Specification – Knowledge and Experience
* Significant experience in growing membership and managing membership services in a similar organisation.
* Experience in developing and improving administrative processes.
* Strong strategic planning and business development skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills at CEO/executive level.
* Experience managing CRM databases.
The role requires good networking and team-working skills, working closely with the executive team. Although mainly based in London, attendance at events and meetings across England and Wales is required.
