What you will do:
* Conduct thorough functional assessments of sub-acute medical rehab patients, as well as step-up and step-down patients, focusing on moving and handling.
* Perform comprehensive cognitive screenings and assessments to aid in effective discharge planning.
* Oversee the ordering of functional equipment using systems such as SystmOne and the Medequip equipment ordering system.
* Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to develop patient-centred care plans.
* Communicate effectively through both oral and written channels, ensuring accurate and timely information sharing.
* Develop prioritisation and time management skills to efficiently manage caseloads.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
* Recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist within the UK.
* Previous experience within the NHS, showcasing a strong understanding of its procedures and standards.
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
