We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a Safeguarding Team. You will be working in a busy and supportive team that assesses and works with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage. Your role involves assessment work directly with children and their families, partnering with agencies including the police and health to ensure the best outcomes with sustainable positive change. The service maintains a strong link with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote local community support when social care intervention is no longer needed.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and informed by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet their needs.
You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable results from your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.
Ideal candidate will be:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
* Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and child protection issues.
* Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
* Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
* Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
* Committed to providing high-quality services to users.
* Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
* Four or more years of qualified experience.
In this role, you will:
* Use your skills, knowledge, and experience to make comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
* Manage an agreed caseload.
* Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
* Devise individual care plans, considering diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
* Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students to aid development.
