Overall Purpose
To support the project construction and commercial team and work closely with the Operations Manager, Procurement Manager and Finance Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support and manage the site/project based Quantity Surveyors.
2. Dispute resolution with clients and suppliers (subcontractors etc.)
3. Negotiation and preparation of complex contractual variations with clients.
4. Review of monthly payment applications.
5. Offer support to the project buyer team.
6. Challenge site progress and cost to completion (CVR).
7. Summary level reporting into board of directors on each project.
8. Ensure EWN's are raised in line with contractual requirements.
9. Ad-hoc commercial negotiations with clients.
10. Monitoring completion of project milestones and ensuring milestones are raised in a timely manner.
11. Provide contractual support to site Project Managers/QS team.
12. Liaise with legal department to ensure subcontracts are in place as required.
Skills & Knowledge

· Relevant Degree
· Experience of leading team of Commercial staff across multiple projects
· 8+ years construction industry, preferably within utilities sector
· Commercial acumen with strong numeracy skills
· Ability to influence people at all levels of the organisation
· Stakeholder management
· Ability to challenge information presented
· Recognised membership of industry body (i.e. IET, RICS, CICES)
· Advanced excel user
· Knowledge of NEC3, IET, FIDIC or JCT contracts
· Experience of working for an ICP or Developer on a renewable energy construction site
· Experience dealing with blue chip companies
