Prospero Teaching is expanding its team of passionate and skilled Tutors to support a growing number of young learners who thrive in a 1:1 learning environment. We are currently working with children and young people who require alternative provision across a wide age range-from EYFS to Post-16.
You will provide tailored 1:1 support to learners who may have a range of additional needs including:
1. SEN (Special Educational Needs)
2. SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
3. EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
4. Anxiety
5. At risk of PEX (Permanent Exclusion)
Each learner is unique, and your role will be to create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning experience that meets their individual needs.
We Welcome Applications From Professionals With Experience In:
6. Nurseries / EYFS settings
7. Primary and Secondary schools
8. Colleges and Post-16 education
9. Alternative provision and specialist settings
As a Tutor, you will:
10. Deliver personalised 1:1 sessions in line with the learner’s age, ability, and needs
11. Support academic progress and emotional wellbeing
12. Use strategies to manage behaviour and reduce barriers to learning
13. Build strong, trusting relationships with learners and their families
14. Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews
15. Work collaboratively with Prospero Teaching and other professionals involved in the learner’s care
About you:
16. Have at least 1 year of experience working within UK schools
17. Are confident in planning and delivering creative, learner-centred sessions
18. Proven experience supporting learners with: SEN (Special Educational Needs) SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs) EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) Complex additional needs A nurturing, adaptable, and student-centred approach

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
19. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people Trauma informed- desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
20. Hold right to work in the UK
21. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
22. Provide references upon request
23. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
