Civil Design Engineer - Water / Utilities
Location Wakefield with Hybrid working
A regional civil engineering and utilities services company operating throughout Yorkshire and Humberside is looking for a Civil Design Engineer with a background in Water and Utilities to join their integrated team and lead the design of infra and non-infra projects on the Yorkshire Water Framework.
Civil Design Engineer Specification.
1. Be a qualified civil engineer and a member of a relevant institution i.e. ICE
2. Have suitable civil design experience of water treatment, inc. drainage & clean water. on infrastructure projects within the UK water sector.
3. Have knowledge of the UK Water Industry and Sewer Sector Guidance standards for drainage design.
4. Have expertise in software design methods such as InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Revit and Civils3D, knowledge of integration with BIM models would be desirable.
5. Be technically competent in hydraulic design principles and ability to apply manual calculation methods where software methods are not available.
6. Have a full UK driving license and full right to work in the UK.
Civil Design Engineer Duties
7. Performing and coordinating internal and external activities associated with civil and drainage design, in line with client specifications and design standards.
8. Preparation of design solutions at various stages of a project; preparation of drawings, reports, specifications, calcs and estimates
9. Maintaining on-going communication with relevant Team Leaders / Senior Managers and clients when required to ensure effective communications on matters relevant to the project.
10. Contributing to the resolution of technical issues on projects and providing technical guidance to other team members, such as junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices.
11. Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 19650 and ISO 14001.
12. Create and maintain good relations with clients, design teams and neighbours as well as any other stakeholders.
Salary range: £35,000 - £45,000 dependant on experience plus package.
