Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Term Time Only)

Location: Cranbourne
Salary: £22,996 – £25,068 per annum (actual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm
Contract: Permanent
Additional Benefits: £1,000 welcome bonus*

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development, wellbeing, and success of our students. Working closely with teaching staff, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.

This role requires flexibility and a positive approach, including providing 1:1 support in both academic and vocational settings such as bushcraft, animal care, and life skills.


Key Responsibilities

* Support teaching staff in delivering lessons and reinforcing learning
* Provide additional explanation and guidance to students where needed
* Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of all students at all times
* Support students in achieving their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets
* Encourage positive behaviour and adapt approaches to meet individual needs
* Accurately record incidents, accidents, and health & safety information in line with policies
* Support participation in group activities, encouraging social interaction and independence


Skills & Experience

Previous experience is not essential; however, a genuine passion for working with young people is key.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

* Ability to manage a range of behaviours, including those that may challenge
* A child-centred approach, treating each student as an individual
* Creativity and adaptability in supporting learning and development
* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
* Good numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
* Ability to meet the physical demands of the role


Qualifications

* GCSE English and Maths (minimum grade 4 or equivalent) desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
