The Role
You will be responsible for assisting partners and other members of Clyde & Co, across the firm, with the new business inception process in line with legislation and regulatory requirements.
This will include conflict of interest searches for legal and commercial conflicts, anti-money laundering processes for new and existing clients, on-going client monitoring, sanctions checks and other risk management procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Process all domestic/overseas payment of funds from both client and office accounts.
* Client bank reconciliations to the agreed timetable.
* Process appropriate ledger entries for all client and office funds receipted direct into the firm bank accounts.
* Monitor and action all transfers between client and office account in accordance with SAR/internal policies.
* Money Market/Treasury and FX transactions
* Provide a professional, friendly and efficient service to all clients (internal & external) by actioning their enquiries promptly whilst ensuring that appropriate client service standards are maintained.
* Promote, maintain and proactively develop strong relationships with internal and external clients to ensure high levels of client focus and service delivery.
* Review and maintain balances held on client account.
* Other ad-hoc duties as necessary
Specification
* Knowledge of the SRA rules including conflicts of interests and knowledge of case law on conflicts of interest.
* Knowledge of anti-money laundering legislation.
* Strong MS Office.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Strong customer focus.
* Excellent communications skills.
* Good standard of written and oral English.
* Degree or other relevant qualifications.
* Experience using Elite Enterprise or similar management systems (Desirable).
Competencies
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of solicitors accounts rules and their application to multi national law firms. On the job training.
* MS Office skills (Outlook, Word and Excel)
* Knowledge of solicitors' accounting practices is preferred.
* Familiarity with decision and authorisation structures of professional services firms to understand and ensure needs of fee-earners and business services departments are met and appropriate controls implemented with effective authorisation.
* Knowledge and understanding of the changing environment in which law firms and clients operate
