Care and Support Worker, L'Arche Edinburgh ABOUT THE ROLE Hours of work: 40 hours per week Salary: £12.60 per hour plus sleepovers at £122.85 per night Place of work: L'Arche Edinburgh Community House(s) Contract type: Permanent, full-time Closing date: Sunday 15th June, at 23:59. Notes: This position does not offer sponsorship and is best suited for a candidate already located in the Edinburgh area. Main purpose of the role As a Care and Support Worker, you will provide one-to-one support to people with learning disabilities living in a variety of settings, in line with agreed support and care plans, in all aspects of their everyday lives, while enabling them to lead a full and active life at home and in the community. You will deliver practical, physical and emotional support to people with learning disabilities, whilst proactively promoting choice, independence and self-determination. Person Centred Support You will: • Provide high-quality support to people with learning disabilities in line with L'Arche values, policies and procedures; Support of people with learning disabilities You will: • Assist with the personal hygiene, dress and health needs of individuals in their home; • Facilitate individuals to meet their leisure, social, practical and spiritual needs; • Encourage individuals in their ongoing development of independence; Building an atmosphere of mutual relationships: You will: Foster positive relationships with both assistants and people with a learning disability; Assist in celebrations and support spiritual life so that there is an atmosphere of welcome and friendship; ABOUT L'ARCHE EDINBURGH L'Arche Edinburgh provides registered housing support and care at home services to 16 adults with learning disabilities across four locations in and around the Leith and Restalrig areas of the city.
