Job Title: Demand Planner - FTC
Location: South Gloucestershire
Hours: 37.5 per week (9-5)
Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Join our client as a Demand Planner, where you'll play a key role in forecasting and purchasing products aligned to market and company requirements—minimising operational costs and ensuring top-tier product availability.
Our client is a trusted UK-based furniture manufacturer known for blending smart design, ergonomic comfort, and long-lasting quality.
Main responsibilities:
1. Demand Forecasting:
* Use statistical methods, historical sales data, market trends, and other inputs to predict future demand for products.
* Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to gather information affecting demand, such as promotions, product launches, or economic shifts.
* Provide insights into future demand trends and work with cross-functional teams to create plans aligning with the company's business strategy and financial goals.
* Ensure product availability in the allocated region.
1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
* Analyse data sources like past sales, market trends, seasonality, and economic indicators to refine demand forecasts.
* Generate regular reports assessing forecast accuracy and inventory performance, including product availability, service levels, stock breakdowns, and forecast accuracy.
2. Purchasing & Inventory Management:
* Submit orders to suppliers, ensuring correct quantities are available to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
* Work closely with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels, balancing supply with forecasted demand.
3. Supplier Management:
* Build strong relationships with suppliers to improve purchasing and operational performance.
* Provide quarterly purchasing forecasts to primary suppliers.
* Participate in supplier negotiations.
* Attend annual trips to key suppliers in Europe and the Far East.
4. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
* Participate in regular S&OP meetings to align demand forecasts with internal KPIs, including sales and logistics, ensuring all parties are aligned.
5. Continuous Improvement:
* Monitor forecast accuracy and refine models to improve precision.
* Implement best practices and adopt new technologies by attending conferences and seminars with industry experts.
6. Risk Management:
* Identify potential risks to demand forecasts, such as market volatility, supply chain disruptions, or changes in consumer behavior.
7. Skills and Experience:
* Experience in demand planning or purchasing roles is desirable.
* Strong understanding of market dynamics and business environment.
* Excellent numerical skills.
* Experience with data analysis and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
