Sous Chef
Overview
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the daily running of a busy kitchen. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced catering environment and is passionate about preparing high-quality food while maintaining excellent kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering a variety of meals and catering services
Prepare food for both small service periods and larger events or functions
Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
Help manage stock levels, ordering, and reduce food waste where possible
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
Assist with staff supervision and support junior kitchen team members
Skills & Experience
Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or catering environment
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work well under pressure during busy service periods
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Team-focused with good communication skills
Flexible and willing to assist across different catering services and events
