Job Description
Our client is a well-established civil engineering subcontractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team.
This is a predominantly office-based role with occasional site visits across the Lincolnshire area, working on housing, infrastructure, and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications
* Carry out site visits to assess project requirements
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors
* Price groundworks and civil engineering packages, including commercial schemes
* Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Prepare and submit compliant tender submissions
* Support pre-construction planning and commercial handovers
* Assist with pricing variations and value engineering
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience as an Estimator within groundworks or civil engineering
* Experience across housing, infrastructure, and commercial projects
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts (NEC4 preferred)
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Esti-mate experience beneficial)
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail
* Full UK driving licence
