This is an opportunity to join a family owned real estate investor and developer as a Development Director. You can be based at their offices in Manchester, Leeds, or Sheffield.

* 10+ years of development experience within commercial real estate.
Job specification:
* Lead day to day Management of development projects from inception through to completion, typically ranging in value from £10 million to £150 million.
* Co-ordinate project due diligence including market and financial feasibility studies and obtaining professional consultant’s input, along with link in to the Group finance department.
* Ability to be commercially savvy and have a network of agents to assist with agency and investment advice on projects.
* Liaising with external architects & all consultants to establish the options within a development
* Carrying out development/investment appraisals on new and existing projects.
* Leading external teams from the planning stage through to delivery. Responsible for procurement of such professional services, budgeting, design and permitting approvals, scheduling, cash forecasting, contract management, construction implementation and closeout.
* Lead the consultant team on planning and permitting process and take key role in the negotiations with local authorities so that required consents and permits are obtained.
* Preparing development briefs, business plans and programmes
* Produce monthly update reports for internal Board meetings and external partner meetings.
* Feasibility and viability appraisals for reporting forecasts
* Understanding of real estate market trends and demands, with the ability to incorporate into recommendations and decision making.
* Proven ability to identify and integrate commercial project requirements (including sustainability and resiliency industry initiatives and practices) of the property during all phases of the project.
* A customer-focused and holistic approach to development, considering a wide-array of stakeholder perspectives including tenants, investors, and internal Client teams.
* Proven leadership skills that cultivate collaboration and stimulate pro-active communication among internal and external team members in order to achieve goals and cultural differences of local markets
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple, complex projects while meeting deadlines.
