Role Overview We are currently seeking an experienced SEND Tutor to join our team as an independent contractor. You will deliver one-to-one academic tutoring to neurodiverse learners across a range of ages, working closely with families and the coordinating team. This role requires strong subject knowledge, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Responsibilities Deliver one-to-one academic tutoring sessions tailored to neurodiverse learners (children, young people, and adults). Adapt teaching approaches in response to individual needs, emotional states, and engagement levels. Manage challenges within sessions with professionalism and flexibility. Communicate clearly and professionally with families and the coordinating team. Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development. Uphold safeguarding standards, including maintaining a DBS Update Service subscription. Maintain session records and provide concise progress updates. Requirements Proven experience tutoring learners with SEND, autism, PDA, or complex neurodivergent profiles. Ability to tutor one or more academic subjects, ideally up to GCSE level or equivalent. Strong understanding of neurodiversity and relational, trauma-informed approaches. Ability to build rapport while maintaining clear professional boundaries. Demonstrated flexibility, emotional resilience, and ability to work effectively under pressure. Reliable, organised, and professional in communication and delivery. Have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to undertake one. Registered or willing to register as self-employed. What We Offer Competitive hourly rates (£20–£35/hr, depending on placement).
