As a Mortgage Business Assessor within our Advice Quality Team, youll play a key role in safeguarding the quality, suitability and compliance of advice delivered across our Mortgage, Protection and Owl business lines. This is an opportunity to use your expertise to influence adviser behaviour, support continuous improvement, and help shape the future of advice across the Openwork network. This is a 12-month fixed‑term contract, hybrid role, based in our Swindon office, with a requirement to be in the office three days a week.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Reviewing client files against agreed criteria, applying Insight checklists to ensure advice is suitable, compliant and clearly documented.</li><li>Conducting and recording assessments with accuracy, fairness and consistency.</li><li>Identifying errors, discrepancies or concerns in advice and escalating where appropriate.</li><li>Spotting trends and contributing to ongoing improvements in advice quality.</li><li>Taking ownership of potential breaches and rejects, making confident and timely decisions.</li><li>Meeting daily and weekly SLAs, including case checks and peer reviews.</li><li>Building strong working relationships with advisers, supervisors and internal teams.</li><li>Collaborating with Operations, Distribution and Compliance to enhance advice quality across the network.</li><li>Providing clear, courteous and consistent support to colleagues and advisers.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>CeMap qualification.</li><li>Extensive experience within financial services, ideally with supervisory or oversight responsibilities.</li><li>Previous business assessment or file‑checking experience.</li><li>Strong knowledge of ICOB, MCOB, TCF, Data Protection and Financial Crime requirements.</li><li>Experience within Openwork or another AR network (highly advantageous).</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.</li><li>Sound judgement with the ability to remain impartial and consistent.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.</li><li>Confident time‑management and the ability to stay calm under pressure.</li><li>A natural customer focus and resilience when handling challenging situations.</li></ul><h3>Compensation and Benefits</h3><ul><li>Salary up to £32,000.</li><li>Bonus scheme – on target bonus 7.5%.</li><li>Pension scheme – contribution up to 5% of salary with an additional 5% match.</li><li>Critical illness cover.</li><li>Income protection.</li><li>Death in service – 4 times salary.</li><li>27 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the opportunity to buy up to an additional 10 days.</li><li>Range of other flexible benefits including private medical insurance, dental insurance, and more.</li></ul></div>
