We’re looking for a Technical Bid Writer to join our Revenue team and play a key role in developing compelling proposals for NHS and commercial opportunities. You’ll collaborate across departments to produce persuasive content that showcases Optum’s capabilities and supports business growth.
This is a permanent role reporting to the Director of Health Management. This is a hybrid working position where you will attend collaborative meetings with the bids and wider organization on an ad hoc basis in Leeds.
What you’ll do
As a Technical Bid Writer, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality written content that communicates our solutions effectively to potential clients. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information, tailor responses, and ensure compliance with procurement standards.
Contributing to the bid strategy, you will work with our senior leaders to align strategy and translate this into technical document responses.
Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
* Conduct thorough research to understand client requirements, industry standards, and competitive landscape
* Tailor bid responses to address specific client needs and highlight our unique value propositions
* Maintain a library of bid templates, case studies, and other supporting documents
* Review and edit bid documents for clarity, accuracy, and consistency
* Manage multiple bid projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
* Support production of thought leadership and case study materials
Who you’ll be
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and persuasive writer with experience in technical bid writing, ideally within the healthcare sector. You’ll bring strong research skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content.
Other key skills required include:
* In-depth knowledge of the NHS and its procurement processes
* Understanding of commercial frameworks and contract management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Research and analytical skills
* Detail-oriented with exceptional organisational abilities
