WHAT DO YOU DO?
Advanced Clinical Assessment and Management
* Undertake comprehensive MSK assessments of routine and complex patients in a primary care setting, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
* Formulate accurate diagnoses, management plans, and prognoses, and initiate appropriate interventions including self-management strategies.
* Independently refer for investigations such as MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, or nerve conduction studies, and interpret findings in context.
* Refer patients to appropriate specialities across primary or secondary care, in line with service pathways and clinical need.
Collaborative Working and Integrated Care
* Work alongside Advanced Practice Physiotherapists (APPs), GPs, MSK Podiatrists, and other clinicians as part of the integrated MSK service.
* Participate in cross-discipline referral triage and contribute to care navigation, ensuring patients are seen by the right professional, in the right setting, at the right time.
* Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, colleagues, and referrers to support shared decision-making and coordinated care.
Clinical Leadership and Service Development
* Contribute to ongoing development and innovation within the MSK service, including pathway development and use of technology to enhance access and outcomes.
* Actively engage in in-service training (IST), clinical supervision, and peer review processes to maintain and improve service quality.
* Support the embedding of outcome measures, quality metrics, and best practice pathways in daily clinical practice.
Injection Therapy and Specialist Interventions
* Where qualified, administer joint and soft tissue injections independently, or be committed to undertaking the necessary training to gain this skill.
* Use advanced therapeutic interventions within scope to improve patient function and reduce the need for onward referral or surgery.
* Ensure all clinical activity aligns with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) 'Codes of Practice' and relevant legal frameworks.
Governance and Clinical Documentation
* Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, ensuring decisions and outcomes are clearly recorded and shared with referring professionals.
* Comply with all relevant legislation and local policies, including those related to injection therapy, information governance, and safeguarding.
* Contribute to audit, evaluation, and service improvement initiatives to support delivery of safe and effective care.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE?
Essential:
* HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with significant post-registration experience in MSK.
* Demonstrated competence in advanced assessment and management of MSK conditions.
* Experience working autonomously in a primary care, GP, or extended scope setting.
* Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.
* Understanding of current NHS frameworks, MSK pathways, and population health strategies.
* Completed Stage 1 of the FCP Road Map to Practise
Desirable:
* Qualified to administer joint and soft tissue injections, or actively working toward this qualification.
* Independent prescribing or non-medical prescribing qualification.
* Experience contributing to pathway redesign or quality improvement projects.
* Familiarity with electronic referral triage systems and patient outcome measurement tools.
* Completed or enrolled on Stage 2 of the FCP Road Map to Practise

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Alton for a First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioner. The practitioner will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients with musculoskeletal conditions. They will deliver high-quality physiotherapy care, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and self-management education. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate patient records, and participating in continuous professional development.
Qualifications
* Strong skills in Physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
* Experience in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Relevant Physiotherapy degree and HCPC registration
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* Strong organizational and time-management skills
* Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
