Contract until 31st December 2025 – likely extension
A leading player in the aerospace sector is seeking an experienced Repair Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Engineer to join a highly reactive, multidisciplinary team delivering real-time engineering solutions for in-service aircraft.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with strong structural analysis expertise and hands-on repair experience to contribute to the safety and longevity of commercial aircraft in operation. You'll be joining a collaborative and fast-moving team that thrives on solving complex challenges — often with tight turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform F&DT analysis on damaged metallic aircraft structures using industry-standard tools and methods.
* Support the design, development and justification of structural repairs, in line with certification and airworthiness requirements.
* Work closely with repair design and static stress engineers to provide optimised, airworthy repair solutions.
* Create, review and compile detailed engineering documentation and justification reports.
Requirements:
* Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent experience).
* Solid understanding of Fatigue & Damage Tolerance principles and application to metallic structures.
* Proven experience using F&DT analysis tools, ideally ISAMI and Mathcad.
* Strong documentation and reporting skills to meet engineering and regulatory standards.
* Experience working in a time-sensitive, reactive engineering environment.
Preferred:
* Prior experience with aircraft wing repairs.
* Delegated signature or significant progress toward delegation for structural analysis.
If you’re a hands-on F&DT engineer with a passion for solving real-world structural issues and want to work in a supportive, fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.
