Our client based in Yateley is looking for an Electronic Hardware Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The role requires attending the office two days per week, with the remainder of work performed from home.
The Role
As an Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and testing advanced electronic systems. You will work across the full product lifecycle — from concept and design to production and ongoing support — collaborating closely with other hardware and systems engineers to turn requirements into high-performance, reliable hardware.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and schematic capture of analogue and digital hardware
* PCB layout for complex multi‑layer boards
* Test and fault‑finding of electronic hardware
* Firmware and FPGA design
* Development of test processes, equipment, and validation systems
* Through‑life support, maintenance, and obsolescence management
* Documentation and design verification
About You
You’ll be an engineer with a passion for electronic design, curious about adjacent engineering disciplines, and eager to grow your expertise in a supportive environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Degree (2:1 or above) in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
* Strong electronic design skills
* Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
* A collaborative, proactive approach and desire to learn
* Master’s degree in a related field
* FPGA design (VHDL) using Intel Quartus Prime or similar tools
* Analogue circuit design and signal processing
* Experience with interfaces such as Ethernet, RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C
* Embedded software development in C/C++
* Experience transitioning designs to production and implementing Design for Test (DFT) principles
