Gas Engineer - North East England
We are seeking a Gas Engineer to operate across North East England, supporting residents with reactive repairs across our property portfolio. The role includes carrying out service repairs, assisting with breakdowns, and installing new equipment.
Responsibilities include ensuring all gas work complies with The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 and Mears Gas Procedures, performing repairs and maintenance in domestic premises, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The candidate must be gas qualified with current Domestic ACS certification, and capable of completing all relevant paperwork and records for audit and invoicing. Additional responsibilities include managing stock, reporting safeguarding concerns, and participating in emergency call-outs as needed.
Role Criteria:
* Qualified to City and Guilds / Gas Service Engineer standard with ACS certifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CPA). CKR1 and HTR1 are preferable but not essential.
* Good understanding of current legislation, building control, and governing body requirements.
* Experience with heating boilers, central heating, piping, plumbing, and valves.
* Reliable and flexible, with willingness to work extra hours and participate in a call-out rota.
* UK Driving License.
All roles require entitlement to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not offered. To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their license for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points. All roles are subject to DBS/Security checks prior to employment.
