Nuclera is a venture-backed biotech company headquartered in Cambridge, UK with significant operations in Boston, USA. Nucleras mission is to accelerate discovery by enabling rapid, easy access to functional proteins essential for drug discovery research. Our eProtein Discovery benchtop system accelerates protein expression and purification optimization in research labs.
Nuclera has significant manufacturing operations for eProtein Discovery cartridges, instruments and reagents, as well as international shipping requirements for the product. Quality is paramount from incoming materials for manufacture all the way through to on time delivery of the product to customers.
We are seeking an inspiring, resourceful and decisive Director of Quality and Supply Chain to lead the operational execution and continuous improvement of these functions. This is a critical role that is expected to have wide reaching scope and impact across the business. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with deep expertise in quality systems and supply chain strategy, coupled with a proven track record of driving operational excellence in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
About The Role
* Develop and maintain enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS).
* Oversee quality assurance processes for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
* Develop and execute supply chain strategies to support growth and operational goals.
* Manage relationships with suppliers, third-party logistics providers, and partners to ensure reliable supply and distribution.
* Oversee procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
* Work closely with the Business Systems team to increase efficiency of our IFS ERP system relating to supply chain and quality.
* Lead regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with global industry standards and government regulations, including in new sales territories.
* Lead development of a quality-centric culture across the company through personal example, advocacy, training and mentoring.
Requirements
Essential:
* 8+ years experience in supply chain operations and quality management
* 5+ years within a manufacturing organisation
* In depth knowledge of quality management principles and best in class practices.
* Proven experience in managing end-to-end supply chain logistics, procurement, warehousing, and distribution
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the company
Desirable
* Experience driving an organisation through ISO 9001 accreditation.
* Experience at an organisation during significant scaling of demand
* Masters degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field
* Experience in the life sciences or a related field
* Six Sigma Black Belt
