Reward & Benefits Specialist
Hybrid – 2 days/week in Hatfield
At Ocado Logistics, we’re the powerhouse behind Ocado Retail and Morrisons online – a fast-moving, tech-led logistics network spanning high-tech Customer Fulfilment Centres, bustling delivery spokes, and corporate offices across the UK. With over 16,000 colleagues – from drivers and personal shoppers to engineers and strategists – reward matters more than ever.
We’re looking for a Reward & Benefits Specialist to join our growing Reward team – a role where you’ll make a real difference to how we attract, retain, and recognise our 16,000 colleagues across the nation.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders, external providers, and our People team to deliver fair, competitive, and meaningful reward packages that support both our business goals and our colleagues’ needs.
This role is an excellent next step for someone developing their career in reward, who already has a solid understanding of pay structures and cycles, and is eager to broaden their skills within a large, operational, and dynamic environment.
What you’ll be doing
Reward Policy & Structure:
* Develop and maintain reward policies and pay ranges across hourly and salaried roles.
* Manage salary survey submissions and analyse market data to ensure competitiveness.
* Conduct regular benchmarking and market analysis to maintain internal equity and inform reward decisions.
Compensation & Pay Management:
* Provide recommendations for salary adjustments, promotions, and pay equity issues.
* Build and maintain financial models and analysis related to total compensation, including salaries, bonuses, and equity.
Benefits & Provider Management:
* Work with external providers to maintain and improve the online benefits system for all employees.
* Develop fit-for-purpose benefits and reward packages tailored to different workforce groups.
Collaboration & Communication:
* Partner with the Reward team, senior People leaders, business stakeholders, and third-party providers to deliver a fair, equitable, and competitive total compensation and benefits package aligned with our strategy.
* Assist in designing and deploying effective reward communication strategies to reach our diverse and dispersed workforce.
* Respond to queries from employees, managers, advisers, colleagues, and product providers, providing clear advice and guidance to our People Services team.
What we’re looking for
This role is perfect for someone already working in Reward, Benefits, or Compensation, who is ready to make a tangible impact. You might currently be working as a Reward and Benefits Advisor, Senior Advisor, Reward/Benefits or Compensation Analyst, Senior Analyst, or Specialist.
We’re also keen to hear from Senior Reward Administrators with solid experience in data analysis, benefits systems, and reporting, who are ready to take the next step into a more strategic, hands-on Reward role!
You will also need:
* Experience in reward and benefits within a large, complex organisation – ideally with frontline, operational teams (logistics, retail, manufacturing, transport, or similar).
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make clear recommendations.
* Confidence in managing multiple stakeholders and building strong working relationships.
* A collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
What you’ll get in return:
At Ocado, we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported, so you’ll find a safe and collaborative atmosphere alongside an award-winning recognition programme and benefits designed to help you thrive:
* Competitive salary
* 30 days of ‘work from anywhere’ for flexibility and balance
* 25 days holiday (rising to 27) plus the option to buy more
* Private medical insurance and income protection
* Up to 7% employer pension contribution
* Support for families – including enhanced maternity, paternity, and parental leave
* Cycle to Work Scheme and interest-free train ticket loans
* Free shuttle buses to select sites
* 15% off Ocado.com and discounts at leading retailers and restaurants
* Employee share schemes
We’re an inclusive employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds. If you need adjustments during the recruitment process, we’re happy to help.
