We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team on the ward 8 acute general surgical ward at Glan Clwyd Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients undergoing both emergency and elective surgical procedures. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering evidence-based care and contributing to continuous service improvement. Main duties of the job Deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care to surgical patients throughout their hospital journey. Undertake comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes in collaboration with patients and families. Administer medications and clinical treatments in accordance with NMC and BCUHB policies. Work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, physiotherapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care. Support patients through pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery, including enhanced recovery protocols. Maintain accurate documentation using electronic patient records. Supervise and mentor student nurses and junior staff. Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ward-based education. Uphold infection prevention and control standards and contribute to a safe working environment.
