Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Kitchen Assistant / Chef to join our culinary team at Seals Cove and Viking Village. The ideal candidate would have provable experience of working in kitchens, as well as the confidence and creativity to express themselves whilst ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.
The role is part-time and would involve working between 20 and 30 hours per week, including evenings and weekends - with the potential for extra hours in the future.
Good rates of pay dependent on experience can be discussed.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards.
* Work alongside kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to food safety protocols.
* Support in managing inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and special event catering.
* Ensure that all food handling practices meet health and safety regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a culinary role within the food industry.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
* Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.

Pay: £12.21-£18.17 per hour
