Band 6 (or Band 5 development role) Senior Respiratory Physiologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our Lung Function team based in a bright and modern setting. We are looking forward to working with an experienced and fully autonomous Clinical Respiratory Physiologist with a high level of demonstrable technical ability and clinical understanding.
Within the department of respiratory medicine, there are several specialty clinics the lung function service will support, including sleep and ventilation, severe asthma, complex COPD, and TB, which are led with a strong MDT ethos. The successful candidate will be required to undertake and interpret a full range of investigations, which currently include:
* Full lung function testing
* Respiratory muscle assessment
* Capillary blood gases
* Bronchial provocation using Mannitol
* Sleep studies
* Hypoxic challenge tests
The post holder will be involved in helping to further develop and expand the suite of tests currently offered.
This post offers the opportunity to expand your skills and advance your career in respiratory physiology within a large specialist teaching hospital. Additionally, you will be working in the busy Lung Function Department. Ideally, you will be working as a Clinical Physiologist at band 6 or band 5 with significant experience working in a Lung Function Laboratory.

Education & Qualifications
* Degree in Respiratory Clinical Physiology, PTP, Biological Science subject, Level 6 apprenticeship healthcare science, Graduate Diploma in Respiratory Science, or equivalent
* ARTP Practitioner or equivalent
* AHCP or HCPC registered or eligible
* Further education/CPD in subjects relevant to respiratory function & physiological measurements
* Specialist knowledge in practical & theoretical aspects of respiratory physiology & disorders
