Warehouse Manager - Responsibilities
* Manage daily warehouse operations including receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of goods
* Ensure customer demand and delivery deadlines are consistently achieved
* Maintain accurate stock control through regular stock counts and effective use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
* Optimise warehouse layout, storage utilisation and workflow efficiency
* Supervise, motivate and develop warehouse staff to achieve operational targets
* Manage staffing levels including rotas, holidays, absences and performance reviews
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and product safety standards
* Maintain a clean, organised and secure warehouse environment
* Coordinate effectively with transport providers and suppliers
* Oversee maintenance and safe operation of warehouse equipment and company fleet
* Support and promote a strong product safety culture in collaboration with the Compliance Manager
* Establish, follow and enforce safety procedures in line with legal requirements
* Attend weekly and monthly senior management meetings
* Deliver regular toolbox talks to warehouse employees
* Operate warehouse activities in line with BRCGS and FSC quality systems
* Create, review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required
Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years' experience in warehouse management
* Strong background within logistics and warehouse operations
* Proven experience leading and motivating warehouse teams
* Hands‑on management style with strong problem‑solving capability
* Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
* Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
* Data entry and data processing experience
* Knowledge of BRCGS and/or FSC standards desirable
* Forklift licences preferred (Pivot and Counterbalance)
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
