Towbar and Service Technician Our client, a well-established leader in the automotive industry based in Glasgow, is seeking a dedicated Towbar and Service Technician to join their team. The Towbar and Service Technician role is vital to maintaining high standards of vehicle compatibility and safety, providing service and repairs to a variety of towing products and trailers. Benefits: Basic salary of up to £32,000, with an OTE of approximately £38,720 33 days holiday, including Bank Holidays Standard 37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with no weekends Opportunity to receive specialist training relevant to the role Friendly and professional working environment Ongoing support for career development within the automotive sector Duties of a Towbar and Service Technician: Fit towbars to customer vehicles, ensuring all marks, scratches, and damages are correctly recorded and handled with utmost care Complete towbar fitting, trailer servicing, and repairs efficiently to meet company standards and customer expectations Service and repair the company's fleet of hire trailers, maintaining accurate maintenance records Assembling and modifying trailers as required to suit client specifications Handle vehicles and trailers securely, maintaining designated areas and practising safe working procedures Report any vehicle or property damage or faults immediately to management Maintain tools and equipment in excellent condition and report any faults Occasionally visit customer premises for repairs or fitting of towbars Assist with trailer assembly and modifications as needed Ensure all work is completed within acceptable timeframes without compromising quality Requirements: Hands-on experience in repairing products, wiring, or servicing trailers, flatbeds, or similar equipment Proven experience in fitting and wiring towbars is highly desirable Full clean UK driving licence Ability to detect faults and provide technical advice effectively Practical approach with strong attention to detail Willingness to undertake product-specific training provided by the employer Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to visit customer sites for on-site repairs and fittings Training to operate a Fork Lift Truck may be provided; willingness to undertake certification is a plus If this Towbar and Service Technician role interests you or if you wish to explore other motor trade opportunities in the Glasgow area, please contact Sam Butcher at Perfect Placement.
