Wheal Coates is mixed specialty surgical ward caring for patients through their elective and emergency pathway journey. We provide care for planned surgery which includes Inpatients and Day-cases across many specialties, for example; Max-Fax, ENT, Ophthalmology, Oral and Vascular, we also care for emergency and medical patients too.

Main duties
If you want professional and personal development then we will support you to achieve this. There is a clear development structure in place, which includes senior ward level nursing as well as Clinical Nurse specialists within the Surgical specialty. We also offer simulation training at the point of care, enabling staff to practice and develop acute clinical skills whilst learning about the real values of good teamwork.
It is not essential to have worked within Surgery to apply for this position as we would welcome all Registered Nurses as we are committed to going the extra mile for you, as you would for our patients. We work together to create a positive team spirit, recognising achievements and celebrating success. We know that happy patients start with happy staff.

Qualifications
* Essential: Level 1 Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration (students pending registration); Commitment to obtain assessing/mentoring qualification
* Desirable: Evidence of professional portfolio; Basic computer skills
Skills
* Essential: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Basic computer skills
Experience
* Essential: Previous experience in an acute Trust within the last twelve months (this can include student placements)
