Project Details
As Clerk of Works Technical Director, you will be instrumental in leading and advancing Clerk of Works services, driving the growth of the business.
You will be responsible for the overall quality of the Clerk of Works output, strategic direction, and key client account management while overseeing the training, development, and resource management of the Clerk of Works team.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Take overall responsibility for the quality of the Clerk of Works service delivery across the business and contribute to the strategic direction of the business.
2. Act as the lead for all Clerk of Works service delivery, ensuring client satisfaction and service excellence, and oversee project appointments, invoicing, and scheme profitability.
3. Manage team resources and workloads effectively to meet project requirements.
4. Take responsibility for allocated Key Client Accounts, building a relationship with Key Clients, ensuring complete satisfaction with services, and nurturing new work opportunities, and ensuring the high-standard delivery of Clerk of Works services.
5. Actively seek new project opportunities and promote the services of the business at every opportunity including attending and involvement in appropriate networking and marketing events.
6. Lead the development and growth of the Quality Management System, ensuring continuous improvement in quality management practices. Also as promoting and maintaining quality standards across all areas of work
7. Train, coach, and develop the Clerk of Works team, ensuring high levels of technical quality, including the preparation and presentation of in-house CPD events.
Desired Skills and Experience
8. A wide understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements.
9. Extensive experience as a Senior Manager within Clerk of Works for either a Private Practice, Construction Company or related organisation.
10. Proficiency in Quality Management Systems.
11. Experience in running large, complex projects.
12. Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Excellent organisational and managerial skills.
15. Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
16. Ideally, ICWCI qualified.
17. Driving licence required.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
18. Degree in a Construction-based subject-related field desired
