We're excited to be recruiting a dynamic and motivated Digital Skills Development Specialist to join our Talent Development Team at The University of Manchester.
About the Role
The Digital Skills Development Specialist is responsible for the design and delivery of high quality and effective in-person, online and blended learning and assessment that enhance digital skills capability at all levels of the University. This role manages the digital learning projects within Talent Development, providing specialist digitals skills training and resources to deliver a range of innovative digital development to colleagues, overseeing the full training lifecycle from training needs, design, delivery and evaluation. On average, this role will be delivering in-person development events 3-4 days per week, dependent on business need.
This is a hybrid role, with the opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days per week, dependent on organisational need.
Essential skills:
* CIPD Level 3 Certificate in Training Practice or Certificate in Learning and Development Practice, or City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development or equivalent.
* Proven track record and evidence of designing and delivering successful development programmes, based on andragogical and heutagogical learning principles.
* Able to develop creative learning solutions and to apply appropriate adult learning frameworks using a combination of software applications and web-based technologies for delivery via a virtual / digital learning environment.
* Extensive experience in the design of blended learning workshops, events and in creating learning resources including workbooks, toolkits as well as facilitation guides and trainer workbooks.
* High level of digital literacy, with knowledge and expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft M365 Office, Copilot and IT systems relevant to the role, including experience in administration of self-development platforms such as LinkedIn Learning or equivalent.
* Experience in design and development of eLearning materials in Articulate, Adobe
* Captivate or other e-authoring tools and use of LMS such as Moodle, Totara or Docebo.
* Extensive experience and expertise in facilitation, presentation and training skills., delivered to cohorts up to 30 and at all levels, from novice to expert.
* Excellent analytical and evaluation skills with attention to detail.
* Knowledge and understanding of current issues in online and blended learning and of standards and guidance relating to accessibility, disability, data protection, copyright, and intellectual property for online learning.
Desirable Criteria:
* A relevant qualification in either Instructional Design, Education or related.
* Expertise in the use of Oracle Learn and Articulate Rise.
