Planning Executive

Wavemaker UK is looking for a Planning Executive to join our growing planning team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support the team and launch your career in the media industry.
The role is part of our planning, strategy, and client management team, working on our Fast Growth portfolio of brands including e.l.f. Cosmetics, Campari Group (including Aperol), and Backmarket.
In this role, you will:
Media planning craft:
* Develop foundational media planning knowledge across channels.
* Learn about DE+I planning and carbon-conscious media.
* Use media systems and tools such as TGI, Pathmatics, Wavemaker Architect, AdIntel, etc.
* Run and analyze reports including competitive and audience insights.
* Maintain an inquisitive mindset to understand and learn more about media planning.
* Stay informed on the latest trends and news impacting the media industry.
Campaign management:
* Learn the fundamentals of effective campaign management, including updating schematics, providing media plans to clients, and coordinating creative.
* Assist with financial processes such as PO trackers, bookings, reconciliations, and queries.
* Collaborate with activation teams to deliver responses and tactical plans.
Effective communication:
* Update internal and external status reports.
* Coordinate meetings with clients and creative agencies, and collate relevant documents.
* Work with your line manager to set objectives and goals aligned with your role and agency vision.
Core skills:
Practice Area Knowledge – Fundamental
* Basic understanding and competence in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
* Develop awareness and curiosity about the media and marketing industry, including trends and challenges.
* Research the industry and summarize findings effectively.
* Understand industry tools, technology, techniques, and systems like TGI, AdIntel, Pathmatics.
* Perform simple tasks independently and present findings to clients or team.

* Gather relevant information to understand complex topics.
* Assist in creating routine communication materials.
* Provide clear, simplified information and adapt communication style to the audience.
* Use subject matter knowledge to answer technical questions effectively.
Campaign Management – Fundamental
* Learn to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in campaign execution.
* Manage campaign implementation, including approvals and finance tracking.
* Deliver accurate reports with basic insights.
* Prioritize tasks and manage multiple deliverables with minimal errors.
* Maintain status sheets and track progress.
Compelling Storytelling – Fundamental
* Ask questions to understand the purpose of different sources in story development.
* Begin to adapt communication styles based on the audience.
Ideas Creation – Fundamental
* Ask questions around communication frameworks, trends, and innovations.
* Show willingness to contribute to new projects and ideation sessions.
Communications Planning – Fundamental
* Assist in developing communication frameworks and cross-media strategies.
* Support data reporting, audience insights, and client presentations.
* Understand media channel dynamics and their contribution to overall plans.
